Par CARPE Administrator Dernière modification 05/10/2009 11:21

The French version of "The Forests of the Congo Basin: State of the Forest 2008" report is now available online via the OFAC (Observatoire des Forêts d'Afrique Centrale) website.

This report follows the 2006 State of the Forest report and provides an update on the status of the forests in Central Africa. The report covers 6 Central African countries, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

The 2008 State of the Forest report includes national and regional summaries of the status and trends of forest cover, management of production forests and the conservation of biodiversity; regional thematic chapters presenting the most current information on environmental services from the forests; and CBFP landscape chapters that examine the progress on land use planing within the landscapes and report on biological and socio-economic indicators.

The report was officially launched at the CEEAC-COMIFAC Ministers Conference held in Kinshasa, DRC on 14-15 September 2009.

Please download chapters of the State of Forest 2008 report from the OFAC website: State of Forest 2008 Report
