- The Congo Basin Forest Fund was launched in June 2008 to complement existing activities; and to support transformative and innovative proposals which will develop the capacity of the people and institutions of the Congo Basin to enable them to manage their forests; help local communities find livelihoods that are consistent with the conservation of forests; and reduce the rate of deforestation. It will provide a source of accessible funding, and encourage governments, civil society, NGOs and the private sector to work together. The CBFF is initially being financed by a grant of £100 million from the British and Norwegian Governments.

- The Congo Basin Forest Partnership was launched at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg as a non-binding partnership registered with the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development. As a "Type II" partnership, it represents a voluntary multi-stakeholder initiative contributing to the implementation of an intergovernmental commitment, i.e. the Yaoundé Declaration, and brings together the 10 member states of the COMIFAC, donor agencies, international organisations, NGOs, scientific institutions and representatives from the private sector. CBFP works in close relationship with the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC), the regional body in charge of forests and environmental policy, coordination and harmonisation, with the objective to promote the conservation and sustainable management of the Congo Basin's forest ecosystems.

- The Conservation Geoportal is a collaborative effort by and for the conservation community to facilitate the discovery and publishing of geographic information systems (GIS) data and maps, to support conservation decisionmaking and education. It is primarily a data catalog, intended to provide a comprehensive listing of GIS data sets and map services relevant to biodiversity conservation. The Conservation Geoportal does not actually store maps and data, but rather the descriptions and links to those resources, known as "metadata."

- Gilman International Conservation Foundation (GIC) links the staff and managed animal programs of White Oak Conservation Center with international partners to conserve flagship species. GIC, a public charity, was incorporated in 2001 to fundraise for, and coordinate, field conservation initiatives that work to conserve flagship species and habitat diversity for species represented in the White Oak collection. This is accomplished by protecting natural habitats and engaging local communities to live sustainably and be supportive of efforts to conserve biological diversity. Utilizing White Oak’s staff expertise, professional affiliations and networks, and conference facilities, we are able to draw the assets of other organizations into large scale endeavors that benefit the world’s biodiversity. This approach requires the long-term commitment of funds, staff, and partners to the cause.
